We are

Rchsa

Welcome to Rowan County Home School Association (RCHSA).  We are a Christ-centered homeschool support group dedicated to promoting and encouraging homeschooling families in the Rowan County, NC area.  Our group is member based, member run, and member led.  We all work together to support one another in our homeschooling journeys.  RCHSA offers our members the opportunity to participate in academic programs and social activities that strengthen and promote traditional family values.  We believe that education is a God-given right and the responsibility of parents. yutuytutut

all about

our history

Rowan County Home School Association was organized with a strong list of by-laws, a structured Board of Officers that is voted on annually (offices are on a staggered, bi-annual rotation), Group Leaders for each age group, and volunteer job positions for all members.  It is a membership requirement for each member to contribute to the group by completing a job each year after their first year of homeschooling.  Truly, we are all busy homeschoolers and our group only functions well when we all come together to share the workload.

What We Offer

Here are just a few of the many benefits of becoming an RCHSA member…

MONTHLY SUPPORT MEETINGS

RCHSA offers monthly support meetings which provide an opportunity for families to learn and grow together.  The support meetings address a variety of topics to help meet the needs of our members.  These meetings also offer the opportunity for mentorship between families, social time for parents and children, and time for questions and guidance.  They are regularly attended by both veteran homeschoolers and those new to it all.

gROUP lEADERS

Group Leaders within Rowan County Homeschool Association work diligently all year to provide monthly enrichment opportunities tailored for each age group (Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, and High School). These opportunities include monthly field trips, park days, holiday parties, and more.

cOMMUNITY

Our group is excellent about caring for each other. Members who take the time to get involved form lasting friendships, for parents and their children. Our members have a history of coming together to support each other in every way. We’ve been there with meals for a family during illness/crisis, shared curriculum and resources, advice and encouragement, carpooling, exchanging of teaching duties, and more. We truly are all in this together.

cONNECTIONS

RCHSA membership provides connections to broader opportunities within our community. Examples include library programs, spelling bees, 4-H clubs, science classes, music lessons, art classes, National Honor Society, sports leagues, chorus, band, theater, testing, tutoring, co-ops, field days, newsletter and more!
