Rowan Singers Orientation/Registration (first day of class)

Rowan Singers begins its 6th Spring Semester with a required Orientation & Registration at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, in the sanctuary of Trinity Wesleyan Church, located at 2200 Mooresville Road, Salisbury, NC 28147, with classes starting the same day. Current offerings include a Middle/High School Choir and an Elementary Choir. A Beginners Choir, which is only for younger siblings, ages 2 through 7 years old, of students participating in the older classes, is pending confirmation of a director. The semester concludes with a Concert scheduled for Thursday, May 9.

The cost is $20 per student for the semester with a max of $40 per family [applies only to immediate family members] payable at Registration. This fee is used to cover expenses such as sheet music and facility usage donations. Staff members volunteer their time and talents. Registration for the semester will close on Wednesday, January 23.

Kelly Miller, who has served as Accompanist and Assistant Director for the Middle/High School Choir for the past five years, will be serving as director for both the Elementary and Middle/High School Choirs for Spring 2019.

The Middle & High School Choir for ages 12 (by September 2018) through 12th grade will be directed by Kelly Miller accompanied by Ginger Miller. This class is limited to a maximum of 60 students. Classes will begin at 1:30 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

The Elementary Choir, for students who are at least 7 years of age by September 5, preferably have some reading ability, and are sufficiently mature based on the Director’s judgment, through age 11. This choir will be directed by Kelly Miller accompanied by Melanie Burrell. Class size is limited to a maximum of 50 students. Classes will begin in the Sanctuary at 1:00 p.m. and will go no later than 1:45 p.m.

For January 16 only, students and parents are to be in the Sanctuary at 1:00 p.m. for a brief Orientation. Following Orientation, parents will be dismissed to the foyer to complete Registration paperwork; Elementary students will remain in the Sanctuary until 1:45 p.m. for the first class; and Middle/High School students are to meet in Kidz Space for social time and vocal warm-ups before transitioning to the Sanctuary for the first class which will end at 3:00 p.m.
